Make some money for your organization!

1. What do we wear?
For Hersheypark® and Dutch Wonderland®:

Please wear khaki shorts or khaki pants (no jeans, cargo, or capri pants), socks and comfortable shoes (no open toed shoes, sandals, or clogs; sneakers are acceptable and recommended), and a solid colored polo shirt with no visible writing or logos.  Shorts must be within 4 inches of the knee.  During cooler weather, a solid colored plain sweatshirt or jacket may be worn.  Hats are not permitted.

For Hershey’s Chocolate World®:

Please wear khaki pants (no jeans, cargo, or capri pants), socks and comfortable shoes (no open toed shoes, sandals, or clogs; sneakers are acceptable and recommended), and a black polo shirt with no visible writing or logos.  You may be required to change into one of our black polo shirts if necessary. Hats are not permitted.

For Strasburg Railroad:

Please wear either pants, shorts, or Capri's depending on the weather.  They may be either of blue jeans or khaki material.   Shorts must be within 4 inches of the knee.  Wear a solid colored polo or t-shirt and shoes (no open toed shoes, sandals, or clogs; sneakers or boots are fine).  You may also bring a solid colored jacket, coat, or sweatshirt with minimal logos or writing during cold weather days.  Please note that you are at a working railroad and may get sooty, so do not wear your best clothes!

2. Where do we meet?
For Hersheypark®:

Allow plenty of time as you will probably hit traffic and will need ample time to park your car and meet management.

On HERSHEYPARK Drive look for the white sign that reads "HERSHEYPARK - EMPLOYEE & DELIVERY ENTRANCE" between the traffic lights at Turkey Hill and the park exit.  Turn into the employee and delivery entrance.

Follow the Red arrows on the map below.  Stop at the Guard Booth and tell the Security Guard that you are volunteering.  The Guard will direct you to either of the two employee parking areas.  If you are being dropped off, please use the provided drop off area in the right hand parking lot.  Follow the yellow arrows to the picnic tables in front of the employee cafeteria.  Note the yellow star on the map.  A member of GTP Management will meet you there.  If no one is there to meet you please be patient.  Hersheypark also utilizes volunteer groups at this meeting area, so please be sure not to become mixed in with other departments or groups.  Remember you are volunteering for Get The Picture Corporation and will be selling photos.

For Hershey’s Chocolate World®:

Where Hersheypark Drive and Park Boulevard meet take Park Boulevard and follow the signs for Hershey’s Chocolate World®.  Make a left into the main entrance of Hershey’s Chocolate World®.  Let the parking attendants know you are volunteering with Get The Picture Corporation, so they do not charge you for parking.  Proceed to the main guest parking lot.  Enter the main glass doors and cross the lobby under the balcony into the gift shop area.  On your left you will see a central cash register/checkout area.  On the right side of this island is our “Photo Pick-Up” counter.  Advise the employee working there that you are volunteering today.

For Dutch Wonderland®:

Park in the main guest parking lot and meet right in front of the Castle Gift Shop.

For Strasburg Railroad:

Park in the main guest parking lot and meet at our “Railroad Photo” stand located in the “Railroad Store” between the Restaurant and the Station.

3. What are our duties?
You will be assigned to work in one of our photo stands either running a simple cash register or assembling photos.  These tasks are fairly simple; no previous cash register or photography experience is required.  In addition, we require all volunteers to be courteous and polite to all of our guests; after all they are supplying the money we donate towards your organization.  In order to maintain a professional appearance, you will be required to stand for the length of your shift. We do not permit our employees or volunteers to lean or sit on the counters.

5. Do we get a break?
This depends on the length of your shift.  If you are working more than five hours you will receive a thirty minute break.  You must take your break in the designated break area.  You may also pack your lunch but it must be eaten in a designated break area.

6. Is there an age limit?
Due to child labor laws we are not permitted to allow anyone under the age of 14 to volunteer with us.  Children under the age of 14 will not be permitted in the work area.  Please make other arrangements for younger children.  GTP is requiring all volunteers under 18 to comply with Child Labor LawsVolunteers under 18 must comply with working hour restrictions, but do not need a working permit on file to participate unless their group requires one.

7. May we cancel a shift once we signed up?
This may be done only in emergency situations.  Once you have signed up for a shift, we hold that shift for you.  If you do not show up we are left short a person, which may cause us to close a stand and results in a great loss for our company.  If there is an emergency, please give us as much notice as possible. If you do not show up for a shift without sufficient notice, we reserve the right to cancel your volunteering privileges. Please treat this opportunity as you would any other job.

You should contact Seth Hollinger, Assistant General Manager at (717) 689-7958 with any scheduling conflicts.

8. When and where do we get paid?
Volunteers earn a $7.50/hr and payment is made approximately every month directly to your organization in a lump sum check along with a detailed breakdown of the shifts worked.
